Laboratory Supervisor – Specialty Laboratory – Full Time - Days

In this highly visible position as the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor for the Specialty Lab, you'll have the opportunity to help lead a dynamic and dedicated team of professionals working within all lab sections including the Metabolism Lab, Special Chemistry, Serology, and Special Hematology/Coagulation. Channel your critical and creative thinking through the initiation of new procedures and studies, in addition to refining and modifying established methods and techniques.  You will also be an adept problem-solver through addressing inefficiencies regarding laboratory functions and working with the Leadership team plus staff to resolve identified problems.  Provide direction and supervision to Lead Technologists. Utilize your regulatory expertise to coordinate and prepare for site visits by accrediting/regulatory agencies. Channel your interpersonal skills through supervising and overseeing laboratory personnel to ensure effective operations and foster engagement.  Furthermore, you will provide work direction, assign work, answer job related questions, orient new personnel, and oversee on-the-job training, maintain laboratory procedures and policies and institute changes as required. Lead your team through the completion of performance evaluations and take appropriate personnel actions to ensure adequate staff coverage.  Join us as the Specialty Lab Supervisor and see the Amazing Things Happening in the Laboratory. 


The shift for this position is Days with flexibility to connect with Evening and Weekend staff as inherent in a leadership role. The location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.

Preferred Criteria

  • Master's degree
  • ASCP certification

Required Criteria

  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent curriculum
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department
  • Meets all requirements of the New York State Department of Education for a Laboratory Supervisor

Salary Range:

$130,000-$162,500/Annual
