At NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, our mental health professionals unite the most respected minds in research, education and care. Our diverse upper Manhattan campus is home to over 400 faculty members. Our interdisciplinary services include Home Based Crisis Intervention, intensive outpatient services and treatment collaboration with medical providers across the institution. At this vibrant academic medical center, psychologists have the opportunity to participate in grand rounds, research innovations, training and mentorship.
Clinical Psychologist – CHONY 6 - Outpatient Behavioral Health
The Behavioral Health Outpatient Programs at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center offer comprehensive mental health programming for patients and families with a variety of behavioral health concerns. Our vibrant clinics largely serve Washington Heights and upper Manhattan communities. In working with traditionally underserved populations, an aspect of our mission is to decrease mental health disparities.
Our growing spectrum of services include community-based programs within schools, primary care, home-based crisis intervention as well as newly established Intensive Outpatient Programs and rapid evaluation for high risk patients. Our interdisciplinary and collaborative teams are committed to providing culturally sensitive care. We provide individual, dyadic, collateral, family and group therapy from CBT, DBT, systems and psychodynamic approaches. Psychologists have the opportunity for advanced training in these and other areas.
Psychologists with have the opportunity to seek Columbia faculty appointments and supervise psychology interns, fellows and externs. A large and dynamic service, we are seeking talented faculty to deliver mental health interventions in the outpatient setting via telehealth and in person.
Preferred Criteria
- New York State Department of Education Psychologist License
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents
- Interest/experience providing culturally informed care
- Bilingual in Spanish
Required Criteria
- Doctorate degree in Psychology
- Upon hire, have applied for New York State Limited Permit in Psychology or New York State License in Psychology
- Ability to obtain New York State License in Psychology within 18 months of hire
