Staff Nurse RN - Per Diem - Occupational Health - Cornell Hospital

In this role, you will perform assessments of employee-patient based on his/her physical, psychological and cognitive status while safeguarding the confidentiality of all employee-patients. You'll plan proper nursing intervention, obtains appropriate medical and support services and document according to P.H. policy. In addition, identify employee’s needs for wellness promotion, developing and participating in employee education plans. You will evaluate employee-patient’s lab data, alerting appropriate personnel for abnormal results that threaten the individual and/or hospital staff and patients. Participate in medical surveillance protocols, including blood drawing, giving vaccines, obtaining urine specimens for drug testing, placing and reading tuberculin skin tests, and counseling. Now, you have the opportunity to join us in in our employee health clinics.
This is a per diem, 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday - Friday position at our Cornell Hospital.
Required Criteria
Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
Complete Nurse Residency Program, if a new graduate
Current NYS RN Licensure
BCLS certification from American Heart Association
Knowledge of nursing process: social, behavioral, biological and physical science
Knowledge of current health care environment

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
