Social Worker - Inpatient  Lymphoma & Myeloma - Weill Cornell - F/T - Days

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Inpatient Lymphoma/ & Myeloma Social Worker to join our oncology team. This role is critical in providing comprehensive psychosocial support to patients diagnosed with lymphoma and their families during their inpatient stay. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, experience in medical social work, and a commitment to holistic patient care.

Key responsibilities include conducting thorough psychosocial assessments to identify the emotional, social, and practical needs of lymphoma patients and their families. The social worker will provide ongoing emotional support, counseling, and crisis intervention throughout the patient’s treatment. 

Working closely with the interdisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the social worker will coordinate care to ensure a holistic approach to patient treatment. They will assist with discharge planning, including arranging for home health services, transfer to rehabilitation facilities and connecting them with community support. Additionally, the social worker will facilitate support groups and educational sessions for patients and families, providing a platform for sharing experiences and coping strategies.

Preferred Criteria

  • Clinical social work experience in oncology or a related medical field.

  • Strong clinical assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Discharge Planning experience

Required Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)

  • New York State License as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) 

  • Compassionate, empathetic, patient-centered, and skilled at managing complex and emotionally charged situations.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Salary Range:

$82,500-$105,000/Annual
