Controller

The Controller's responsibilities will include managing and coordinating activities of the general accounting department to ensure effective financial reporting consistent with sound financial practice and accounting principles, and in accordance with established procedures. Coordinate responses to outside inquiries of departments on monthly revenue and expense variances. Develop and oversee the operating budget, financial reporting, cash management, and overseeing payroll, billing and tax/reimbursement functions. Provide work direction and on the job training to staff, evaluate staff performance, interview prospective employees and recommend personnel actions for staff. Maintain effective communication with department heads, staff, the Director of Finance and senior management to ensure effective operations. Act as a consultant to departments that request Finance assistance. Formulate specific goals for the department, institute procedures to achieve goals and monitor goals on an ongoing basis.

This is a full time position splitting time between our Midtown Manhattan Corporate Center and our finance offices in the upper east side of Manhattan.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Seven to ten year’s job related experience with five years supervisory experience
  • Analytical ability to address all matters of moderate complexity such as resolution of technical and administrative problems requiring the use of professional and technical management skills
  • Ability to participate significantly in of policies and procedures for all departmental operations
  • Ability to exercise significant level of discretion in making decisions and recommendations

Salary Range:

$173,000-$223,500/Annual
