Per Diem Nutrition Assistant - Food & Nutrition Teaching Kitchen - Day Flex with rotating holidays and weekends

Maintain Teaching Kitchen Garden, equipment, products and tools in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.

Cleans a variety of work surfaces and areas in assigned area. Disassembles, cleans and reassembles equipment according to established procedures. Collects refuse from Teaching Kitchen, garden areas and transports to appropriate locations for disposal/recycling. Transports products and carts in a safe and efficient manner by pushing and pulling to assigned location.

Inspects garden/food service items for cleanliness and stores clean items according to established procedures. Applying all departmental customer service practices to internal and external customers, greets patients, visitors and employees conducting oneself in a courteous manner. Responds to inquiries politely and promptly referring matters outside the scope of own duties to appropriate others as necessary.

Performs a variety of computer skills necessary to effectively interface with NYP office systems.  Duties may include in-putting information related to purchases or inventory in logs or spreadsheets for tracking purposes

Sets up assigned work area and maintains a sanitary and organized workspace.  Adheres to safety procedures and reports to supervisor any unsanitary conditions, equipment malfunction and evidence of unwanted pests/vermin. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

This is a Per Diem Day flex with rotating weekends and holidays position at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital located at Dempsey House Cortlandt Manor, upper Westchester County, NY. **Must be willing to work indoors/outdoors during extreme weather

Preferred Criteria

• Extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First.

• Experience in the hotel, restaurant, or retail industry.

• Some previous experience in food service is desirable.

• Ability to work indoors/outdoors during extreme weather

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma

• Ability to follow simple directions.
