Social Worker - Eating Disorders Track - Part-Time
As a Social Worker in the eating disorders track, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide individual, family and group psychotherapy and discharge planning to adult patients with eating disorders who also have various co-morbid psychiatric diagnoses. Here the patient's benefit from the latest clinical research findings and advances in the treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and related disorders. This is a part-time(21hrs/week) position at NYP/Westchester Behavioral Health.
Preferred Criteria
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
3 to 5 years of experience in the treatment of adult psychiatric patients
Experience with eating disorders or commitment to working with this population
Training in CBT and/or DBT
Required Criteria
Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
Limited Permit (must supply exam date prior to start of employment)
Fieldwork or previous experience in a psychiatric setting using CBT and/or DBT
Competency in individual, family and group treatment modalities and treatment techniques appropriate to an acute outpatient treatment setting
Knowledge base of bio-psychosocial model, DSM-V diagnoses, criteria for treatment of different diagnoses in an acute care setting, behavioral risk factors and of the impact of mental illness upon individual and family functioning
Knowledge base of community and discharge planning resources and processes
Experience using an electronic medical record
