Amazing Patients, Inspiring Leadership: Chief Nurse Anesthetist – CRNA
NewYork-Presbyterian is excited to expand our mission of delivering the highest quality care to Westchester County and surrounding communities. In September 2025, we’re opening a state-of-the-art ambulatory care facility at 1111 Westchester Avenue in White Plains—a center designed to set new standards in patient experience, convenience, and quality care. Led by top Columbia doctors, this multi-disciplinary facility will offer specialized adult and pediatric care all under one roof.
Your Role as Chief Nurse Anesthetist:
As Chief Nurse Anesthetist, you will play a pivotal leadership role in our facility, overseeing our team of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and managing the Student Nurse Anesthetist program, if introduced. In this role, you’ll be responsible for serving as a clinical and administrative resource, collaborating closely with surgical teams to meet the needs of Westchester County patients. As the administrative supervisor of our CRNAs, your priority will be to ensure the team delivers high-quality anesthesia and analgesia services within an Anesthesia Care Team model for various procedures, including Robotic, general surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and endoscopic cases.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Staffing & Scheduling: Collaborate with the Operating Rooms Faculty Director and VP of Perioperative Services to plan staffing levels, manage CRNA staff schedules using advanced software, and ensure seamless deployment. Manage vacation requests and publish quarterly schedules to the departmental intranet.
Recruitment & Performance Management: With HR support, lead recruitment and hiring processes, conduct clinical interviews, and perform employee appraisals. Provide constructive feedback, design corrective action plans, and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
Attendance & Timekeeping: Approve staff timekeeping entries, manage overtime and absences, and ensure compliance with timekeeping policies.
Professional Development & Compliance: Oversee CRNA staff development, plan morale-boosting activities, arrange training, and ensure compliance with NYP and WCMC policies. Coordinate accredited educational sessions for CME hours and foster strong relationships with OR personnel and faculty.
Educational Program Leadership: Direct educational programming and clinical rotations for Student Nurse Anesthetists, acting as a liaison with CRNA program partners.
Clinical Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care as needed to support the team.
Preferred Criteria:
DNP/MBA/MHA
Required Criteria:
Minimum of 5 years of CRNA experience with demonstrated leadership and administrative management skills
Current New York State RN license (or willingness to obtain)
Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) credentials
BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
