Supervisor - Support Services - Patient Transport
The Supervisor oversees the work activities of Transport personnel to ensure proper operation throughout the hospital. Distributes work assignments, recommends need for additional equipment, and ensures proper daily staffing. This is a non-professional position with supervisory responsibility. Provides work direction, answers job related questions, monitors work for accuracy and ensures adherence to work schedules for assigned area. Assists Manager in the preparation of work schedules and other paperwork. Participates in the Quality Improvement through understanding, maintenance and communication of service standards for Environmental Service. Manages department within budgetary guidelines; assists in budget preparation. Develops staff through training, coaching and recognition. Effectively communicates and trains staff in customer service behaviors. Instructs personnel in use of new equipment, cleaning methods, and delivery protocol. Drives employee engagement and creates a climate where people are motivated to perform at their best to help the department and organization achieve its objectives.
This is a full time position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Queens Hospital.
Required Criteria
- Associate's degree from a recognized college or university or equivalent experience
- Minimum two years of previous work related experience
- Strong Knowledge of Transport
- Familiarity with computers
- Familiarity with Joint Commission Standards and Quality Assurance
- Excellent supervisory skills

Salary Range:
