As a Patient Registrar, you’ll be the welcoming face of our organization—assisting patients with scheduling, registration, and insurance verification, while providing exceptional customer service. You’ll help ensure a smooth and positive experience for patients and their families, all while supporting our mission to put patients first.
Patient Registrar – Patient Access | Full-Time, Days (Flex Shifts)
Alternating starts based on operational needs.
- Shift 1: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Shift 2: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Shift 3: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
In this vital role, you will:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients during scheduling, registration, and admissions.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary pre-certifications and authorizations.
- Screen for medical necessity and ensure accurate documentation to support billing and reimbursement.
- Provide clear communication and support to patients and families throughout their visit.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to uphold our high standards of care and service.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong clerical skills and proficiency with PC-based systems.
- Familiarity with insurance carriers and coverage guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital, medical practice, or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes.
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems.
- Some college coursework or degree.
- Bilingual language skills

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
