Our multidisciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, and pain management specialists works to relieve discomfort and help heal so patients can get back to doing the activities that bring them joy with a program that offers a full range of orthopedic care with expertise across specialties—from diagnostic testing and nonsurgical treatments to minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, robotic joint replacement, advanced spine surgery, and orthopedic trauma surgery. Orthopedic Technologist – Orthopedic Surgery

Our skilled and compassionate orthopedic specialists are here to deliver unparalleled care and a high-quality experience for each patient.  As an Orthopedic Technologist at NYPQ, you will work under the direction of orthopedic surgeons and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team of professionals to provide care to patients with orthopedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of casts, splits, braces and traction fittings. Orthopedic technologists perform casting services in hospitals, clinics and private orthopedic practices and assist with training PGY2 residents with developing casting techniques/skills, and training on the electronic health record system.

This is a Day shift with variable shifts based on department need (8am-4pm, 8:30am-4:30am, or 9am-5pm)

Required Criteria

  • High school diploma
  • Completion of an accredited program as a Certified, Registered Orthopedic Tech.
  • At least 1 year experience as an Ortho Tech including cast application - (including specialized casts, fracture braces) using plaster or synthetic materials.
  • Knowledge of dressing change, wound check and removals of sutures, staples, pins
    Superior customer service skills.
