Medical Assistant/Technician Medical Surgical - Cardiology/Heart Failure Services - Queens Medical Group - Full Time Days
Medical Assistant performs a variety of clinical and clerical functions, in accordance with established policies and procedures, to assist the practitioners and management in daily office operations.
In this role, you will:
Assures the patient is properly prepared for the visit to maintain timely patient flow
Observe the patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to the staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in the patient’s records.
Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as physician or registered nurse requested.
Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.
Performs clerical and secretarial work as needed. Interacts with patients and colleagues in accordance with
institutional service excellence standards.Performs other job-related duties as require
This is a Full Time, Monday-Friday day shift position (9AM - 5PM) and overtime as needed. Required to go to other Queens Medical Group Locations as needed.
Preferred Criteria:
Graduate of a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Associate Program
Certification as a Medical Assistant
Minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in an cardiology practice.
Required Criteria:
High School diploma or GED
Excellent communication and customer service skills
