Medical Assistant /Technician Medical Surgical - Oncology - Queens Medical Group
In this role, you will:
Observe the patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to the staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in the patient’s records.
Measure and record patient height and weight and blood pressure readings.
Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as physician or registered nurse requested.
Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday day shift position, (36.25) hour work week. This position may require traveling to multiple locations in Queens as needed.
Preferred Criteria:
Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program
Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA-CMA, AMT-RMA)
Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Bilingual (Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Spanish) preferred
Required Criteria:
High School diploma or GED
Excellent communication and customer service skills
