Medical Assistant /Technician Medical Surgical - Cardiology - Queens Medical Group/Fresh Meadows

In this role, you will:

• Observe the patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to the staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in the patient’s records.
• Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
• Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as physician or registered nurse requested.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
• Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday day shift position, (36.25) hour work week.  This position may require traveling to multiple locations as needed.

Required Criteria:

• High School diploma or GED

Preferred Criteria:

• Graduate of a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Associate Program 
• Certification as a Medical Assistant
• 1 + years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in an Internal Medicine practice
• Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), and/or Spanish.
