Certified Medical Assistant – Pediatrics – Full-Time – Days – Queens
Our Pediatric Clinic is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant with a strong background in children’s health. You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and making every patient feel welcomed, supported, and respected.
As a Medical Assistant in this fast-paced environment, you’ll be a cornerstone of our care team—ensuring smooth operations while providing compassionate, professional service.
The role will rotate between the Theresa Lang Children's Center at 56-45 Main Street in Flushing and the Pediatric Asthma Center at 59-16 174th Street in Fresh Meadows with possible floating to other Ambulatory Care Clinics.
The hours will rotate based on the needs of the centers, but can be between 8am-4pm, 8:30am-4:30pm, 9:15am-5:15pm, or 11:00am-7:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patient intake, including histories, vital signs, and screenings
Assist providers with in-office procedures and scheduling testing
Adhere to infection control standards and clean equipment and exam rooms between patients
Perform phlebotomy and process specimens
Manage patient flow and scheduling to minimize wait times
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EPIC)
Collaborate with or serve as medical chaperones during exams
Educate patients and families to support their care journey
Ensure equipment is in good working order
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an outpatient setting or experience with family practice
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR
- Bilingual in English, Spanish
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
- Minimum 2 years of experience, including proficiency in phlebotomy
- Must own a stethoscope and be flexible to stay beyond shift hours as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills for charting, record keeping, and supply management
