Evaluate, plan, and provide occupational therapy treatment programs for patients whose injury, disease, or loss of body part interferes with daily functioning. Provide skilled intervention using a variety of techniques that are appropriate to achieve identified goals. Functions include clinical competency, organizing the delivery of treatment, program development, providing direction for workflow, and mentoring.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a staff Occupational Therapist, you will channel your leadership and supervisory skills and be responsible for the work direction, monitoring of performance, mentoring, and in-service education of occupational therapists in an assigned area, under the direction of the Occupational Therapy Supervisor. The qualified candidate should be able to work in any one of the specialty areas within the OT department, and must have a minimum of 5 years of working experience.
Preferred Criteria:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification.
- AOTA Membership.
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist.
- New York State Occupational Therapy License.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Demonstrates competency in clinical skills consistent with the level of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrate a track record of mentoring students and staff, co-treating with staff, and advancing their clinical skills by accruing 100 contact hours in continuing education.
- Leadership qualities: including flexibility, assisting other areas as needed for coverage, and assisting with operations within their assigned area.
