Psychologist - School Based Mental Health Clinic - Columbia
The School-Based Mental Health program is an energetic and thriving multidisciplinary clinical team of psychiatrists, clinical social workers, psychologists, and allied professionals embedded in the outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry services. The program provides direct evidenced based clinical care to elementary and middle school children on site at a participating local public school; conducts diagnostic/intake evaluations and individual, family and group psychotherapy with children and their parents; also provides teacher and school consultation, behavioral intervention in the classroom/school and help families navigate the board of education system. This donor funded program seeks to expand the integration with school based teams to provide care where children and families need it most and create integrated systems to enhance children's functioning across domains.
Responsibilities will include a combination of providing direct patient care, coordination with school teams, teaching and supervision of trainees, and involvement in tiered prevention programming throughout the school setting.
Preferred Criteria
- Competence working with multi-cultural communities
- School-based mental health experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Required Criteria
- Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D. in Psychology
- New York State License in Psychology eligible
- Eligibility and ability to obtain license within 18 months of hire
- Eligible for NYS Limited Permit or NYS License in Psychology
