Come join a multi-disciplinary team that will drive patient movement. Use your clinical skills to triage a wide range of medical illnesses that need varying levels of care. You will be working with all Departments within the hospital, not only limited to clinical teams. You will play a pivotal role in hospital operations. Practice at the top of your Physician Assistant license and be autonomous in decision making.
In this role the Physician Assistant will use their clinical skills to drive patient movement from the ED to Inpatient, Post Anesthesia Care Unit to the nursing units, inter-service transfers, escalation and de-escalation of levels of care, transfers from outside hospitals. The highest acuity patients will be prioritized to meet level of care needs. The PA will partner Patient Flow Specialists, Clinical Coordinators to determine the capacity needs throughout the hospital and use admitting and transfer guidelines along with the defined levels of care to assist in decision making to optimize capacity.
This is a part-time position: Minimum of 25 hours a week, (2) 12.5-hour weekly shifts. 7:00am - 7:30pm and some 11:00am-11:30pm, Weekend and holiday rotation included.
Preferred Criteria
Minimum of five years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant working in Emergency Department, ICU, or Hospital Medicine
Knowledge of hospital operations
Experience with EPIC EHR
Strong Inter-Personal Skills
Master's Degree
Required Criteria
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies
NYS licensure
NCCPA certification

Salary Range:
