At NewYork-Presbyterian our Speech-Language Pathologists help adult patients experiencing serious impairments to connect with the world around them. Our tremendous team provides the expertise patients need to flourish in the areas of swallowing and communication. Now, you can become one of the people who Make It Possible.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology, you will work with adult and geriatric patients from the most acutely ill in our ICU/acute care units, the inpatient rehabilitation unit, to the outpatient setting. This position will be at CUIMC/Milstein Building and Allen Hospital locations.

This is a per diem position with flexibility to work weekdays/weekends/holidays from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Weekday availability is required with Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri being most requested. Two holidays per year required.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Experience addressing speech, language, cognition and swallowing in acute rehabilitation.
  • Experience assessing and treating medically complex adult patients in acute care/ICU settings.
  • Experience providing communication and dysphagia intervention for patients with tracheostomy.
  • Competency performing Modified Barium Swallow Study and/or Flexible Endoscopy of Swallowing.

Required Criteria:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Pathology Association.
  • New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Adult experience in inpatient and rehabilitation hospital setting.
  • Experience in dysphagia evaluation/treatment.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
