At NewYork-Presbyterian our Speech-Language Pathologists help adult patients experiencing serious impairments to connect with the world around them. Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology, you will work with adult and geriatric patients from the most acutely ill in our ICU/acute care units, the inpatient rehabilitation unit, to the outpatient setting. This position will be at CUIMC/Milstein Building and Allen Hospital locations.

This is a per diem position with flexibility to work weekdays/weekends/holidays from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Weekday availability is required with Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri being most requested. Two holidays per year required.

Preferred Criteria:

• Experience addressing speech, language, cognition and swallowing in acute rehabilitation.
• Experience assessing and treating medically complex adult patients in acute care/ICU settings.
• Experience providing communication and dysphagia intervention for patients with tracheostomy.
• Competency performing Modified Barium Swallow Study and/or Flexible Endoscopy of Swallowing.

Required Criteria:

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Pathology Association.
• New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Adult experience in inpatient and rehabilitation hospital setting.
• Experience in dysphagia evaluation/treatment.
