NewYork-Presbyterian's Ambulatory Care Network makes it easier for patients to access high-quality and affordable outpatient care right in their neighborhoods. The Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Program is a psychiatric service that provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, evidence-based services to adults with individual and group interventions. Higher acuity and complex cases are prioritized for rapid care and treated in time-focused phases of care. Together, we can help improve health care outcomes – physical, behavioral, and social health – and increase access for the members of our communities.
Nurse Practitioner – NP –Adult Psychiatry Clinic - Day Flex
As an essential part of our Ambulatory Care Network, the Adult Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner will be working with an interdisciplinary team in the outpatient setting providing psychiatric evaluations, crisis triage, stabilization, and linkage to ongoing outpatient treatment. Medication management and short-term treatment will be provided for adults. Collaboration with other mental health providers such as social workers, psychologists, case manager and psychiatrists would be integral in-patient care.
This position is a full-time position at NewYork-Presbyterian’s Ambulatory Care Network in Washington Heights. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 11:00am-7:00pm, Wednesday 10:00am-7:00pm, and Friday 11:00am-6:00pm. There are no weekends required.
Preferred Criteria:
Adult Behavioral Health NP with 2-3 years’ experience in the outpatient setting
Previous work experience providing psychopharmacology and combined psychotherapeutic treatment
Work with patients with comorbid psychiatric and substance use issues
Strong psychiatric diagnostic skills
Bilingual- English/Spanish
Required Criteria:
Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice
Board Certification Adult Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner
Current NYS RN & NP licensure
Minimum of one-year Behavioral Health NP experience
Current BLS certification with AHA
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
