Laboratory Technical Specialist - Full Time - Transfusion Medicine Department: Apheresis, Blood Bank and Cellular Therapy

In this new position as Technical Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to be a Lab Leader. Plan and develop new techniques, assays and methods while providing technical guidance. Organize and coordinate all technical functions and activities of the Lab in this highly visible position. Join us as Technical Specialist and see Amazing Things Happening in the Laboratory. 

This is a day shift position with oversight extending to other shifts and weekends as inherent in a leadership position. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.

 Work week is M-F, weekend and holiday coverage as needed

Preferred Criteria

  • ASCP Certification

Required Criteria

  • Minimum of 6 years in specialized testing

  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field of science

  • Excellent technical skills, including method development and training skills

  • Cognitive ability to develop and troubleshoot sophisticated analytical procedures
