Kidney Transplant Clinically Licensed Outreach Coordinator - Columbia University Irving Medical Center

Under the strategic direction of the renal and pancreas transplant program leadership, the primary responsibility of the outreach coordinator is to foster growth and development of the kidney and pancreas transplant service line through direct oversight of business development and outreach activities. This includes working with service line leadership to build relationships with community physicians, using data to identify opportunities for program growth, supporting satellite clinic operations, providehealth-related education to the community and track the overall impact of outreach efforts on our program’s volumes. 

The coordinator will work as a collaborative team member utilizing current departmental, hospital and medical school resources and develop new structures and resources with the goal of enhancing marketing and outreach efforts for the renal and pancreas transplant service line. The coordinator will support the physicians and operations staff of the kidney and pancreas transplant service line on all outreach initiatives and strengthen relationships through collaboration with faculty, staff at as well as with community and industry partners.

Overall Responsibilities: 

  • Work with kidney transplant program leadership to collaboratively develop new partnership opportunities and outreach strategies. 
  • Organize and participate in referring provider outreach initiatives, site visits to the campus, satellite clinics and other activities to promote the service line goals.
  • Initiate and cultivate relationships – using a mix of communication tools
  • Generate educational and other patient-facing outreach content on multiple publishing platforms.
  • Serve as a central resource for community questions and referrals.
  • Track all business development and outreach activities to monitor impact and prepare biannual presentations on impact and strategic goals.
  • Work with the marketing & other teams to manage our relationships,brand stories and maintain our presence on social media platforms.
  • Attend local and national meetings such as the American Diabetes Association, American Society of Transplant Physicians, and the National Association of Transplant Coordinators, TRIO (Transplant Recipients International Organization)  

This will be a hybrid role working Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. The position is located at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Preferred Criteria: 

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Prior exposure or personal connections to kidney transplant or dialysis
  • Experience with building and executing social media that engages with our target audience
  • New York State Clinical License such as Social Worker, Registered Dietician, Registered Nurse (RN) 

Required Criteria:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least three years of previous experience, preferably in a related field
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft suite skills  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage databases and spreadsheets  
  • Travel in the tri-state area 50%

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Salary Range:

$68,000-$105,000/Annual
