We are seeking a Head OT for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. The Head OT works under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, and Licensed Creative Arts Therapy at NYP/Columbia, providing clinical and administrative supervision to the Occupational Therapy Acute Care program on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
Additionally, the Head OT is responsible for evaluating and treating a partial caseload of patients. This is a 16-bed CARF-accredited unit servicing inpatient rehabilitation for patients at NYP/Columbia. The patient caseload is comprised predominantly of transplant, cardiac, neuro, and oncology patients.
The shift for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., with weekends/holidays coverage.
Preferred:
Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification.
AOTA Membership.
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
New York State Occupational Therapy License.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Minimum of five years of experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist with one year of experience in acute care.
Demonstrates competency in clinical skills consistent with the level of education, training, and experience.
Competency to care for patients based upon the age group treated.
