Within the Clinical Laboratories of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, each achievement is defined by a commitment to getting it right the first time, every time. Maintain and promote Cytopathology services to both off-site clinicians and in house specialities. Perform high complexity testing procedures required to provide diagnoses for Cytology Specimens. Obtain requisitions from physicians requesting laboratory tests. Examine gynecological, non-gynecological, and needle aspirate specimens. Determine preliminary diagnosis for review by Cytopathologists. Verify test results against accepted quality control standards, record all findings on laboratory computer system. 

This position is Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. 

Preferred Criteria

• ASCP Certification

Required Criteria

• Familiarity with processing and staining slides for screening
• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university 
• Minimum of one year of study at an accredited Cytotechnological school
• New York State Department of Education Cytotechnologist license

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
