Corporate Director - Capital Project Management Design and Construction

The Corporate Director for Capital Project Management is responsible for an annual portfolio of roughly $200 to $500 million of complex, capital design, construction and projects. The Corporate Director leads a team of NYP Senior Project Managers and Project Managers as well as associated design and construction teams. The Corporate Director is also responsible for the formation of capital projects, capital budgets and associated cash flow projections which are integral to the management and execution of capital projects. Ensures that capital project management processes are standard, efficient and enable the institution to complete projects in the most cost-effective and timely manner within the appropriate controls environment. The Corporate Director works collaboratively with colleagues in Finance, Legal and Risk departments to ensure appropriate controls for capital projects are in place to track progress.

Leads the design process and implements, and maintains effective capital project governance, communications and customer service protocols with all hospital staff, including clinical leadership, senior administration, design and construction teams and City, and State agencies as required. Mentors and develops the capital project management team to strengthen performance and develop future capacity.

This is a full-time position located at NewYork Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 10 years leadership and supervisory experience in managing multidisciplinary teams, administration, planning, design and construction for capital projects including renovations, conversions, and new construction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant industry expertise to support strategic initiatives.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
