Coordinator - Leasing Operations - Facilities Real Estate

The Coordinator reports to the Leasing Director and is responsible for managing and supervising the leasing of 670 Residential apartments at the Columbia and Lower Manhattan Campus, including associated staff. Responsible for supporting Royal Charter Properties’ entire core business model which includes financial, operational, support of hospital staff and customer service. Coordinates the annual house staff turnover. Develops and creates brochures and applications for packets to be sent to all incoming house staff and clinical fellows (approximately 100 applicants). Obtains departure dates from terminating staff after the “match”. Prepares correspondence to incoming residents. Assigns apartments to incoming staff to meet their orientation date. Arranges temporary housing and moving/storage for members who cannot be housed by orientation date. Assigns house staff to appropriate accommodations according to orientation date, policy and procedures. Supervises other leasing staff in the preparation of leases, lease renewals, RFO reports, security deposits and releases, and assistance in housing nurses. Reviews their workload and adjusts according to housing priorities. Responsible for the recruitment, selection and orientation of employees in assigned areas. Provides work direction, assigns and/or schedules work, conducts on-the-job training, answers job related questions. Monitors performance and adherence to attendance policies. Prepares performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions for staff, relative to promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action up to and including termination. Assists in the interpretation, development and implementation of Hospital personnel and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains market survey comps for rolling average to formulate rental grid for upcoming year's rent. Prepares and presents marketing ideas to generate more traffic and raise additional awareness of Campus Housing to Hospital employees. Attend orientation for new hires to provide awareness of Hospital housing. Provides real time on the ground valuable feedback on rental structure based on day-to-day interaction with our residents and the marketplace. Supports Leasing Department submission to the Real Estate Board Book quarterly. Assists with special projects designated by the Director (i.e. vacancy report, wait list, arrears report etc.).

This is a full time position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five plus years of previous work related experience
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Efficient in basic Accounting
  • Strong people skills, pleasant personality, and ability to deal with people under stressful situations
  • Willing to become familiarized with Real Estate tenants, staff, Hospital properties, departments, and key personnel
  • Good verbal communication skills

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Salary Range:

$89,000-$118,000/Annual
