Coordinator - Facilities Construction Operations and Maintenance

This role coordinates and ensures efficient execution of Facilities requests involving, Carpentry, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing trades and the respective trade supervisors. Reviews all requests and coordinates with the client and various trade groups developing the scope and budgeting for the request. Manages Facilities contractors procured to repair and provide minor renovations to NYP facilities and coordinates activities with Facilities and Hospital staff through completion of the request.

Coordinates workflow, planning, and scheduling of Facilities Operations projects and workflow among facilities shops and teams. Prepares agendas and participates in daily/weekly meetings with facility maintenance management to develop the next day/week's schedule, review the status of scheduled work, and discuss new, incoming requests. Provides input and guidance into department standards and operating procedures. Manage and coordinate vendor project assignments. Prepare schedules, workflows, logistics and coordinates same with hospital operations. Reviews written and electronic customer work requests and completed work orders. Ensures all work is captured in the CMMS system in a timely manner and verifies completeness of all entries.

Coordinates with the Infection Prevention and Control Department to develop Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRAs) and develops Dust Protection Plans (DPPs), and Environmental Health and Safety team to develop Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM). Coordinates and tracks Utility Service Interruption Requests (USI) and Fire Alarm Service Interruption Requests (FASIR). Coordinates all service interruption with the various trades and communicates with leadership regarding potential impacts on patients and hospital operations.

This is a full time position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Required Criteria

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in architecture, engineering, construction or maintenance/repair of buildings or infrastructure, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge in the use of CMMS systems to organize and track staff work performance
  • Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, and Low Voltage electrical systems

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$93,000-$130,000/Annual
