Chaplain Educator Fellow - Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy - Full Time - Rotating Shifts

Our Chaplain Educator Fellow position is based at NYP/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NYP Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. The Chaplain Educator Fellow provides spiritual care and chaplaincy as a member of the NYP Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy department (SCC) while also embarking on a Certified Educator Candidate (CEC) process toward becoming a Certified Educator (CE) of ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care & Education. This is an opportunity for one of our strongest current chaplains to learn the art and science of training future chaplains.
The Chaplain Educator Fellow will report to the Manager of CPE for the duration of the fellowship and be educated by an assigned ACPE CE who is National Faculty. The fellow will also participate in the Good Enough Supervision CEC Consortium with other CECs, both at NYP and in other institutions.
This position is Rotating Shifts
Preferred Criteria:
- Work in professional spiritual ministry setting
Required Criteria:
- Master’s or other advanced theological studies degree in closely related field as determined/approved by ACPE.
- Board Certification eligibility within one year of the start of the program by APC/BCCI, NAJC, NACC, or CASC
- Completion of a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE.
- Acceptance into the Certified Educator Candidacy program by NYPH CPE faculty.
