In this position as the Laboratory Supervisor you will optimize your clinical laboratory expertise in supervising the technical and support staff while assisting the lab manager in the regulatory, personnel, technical and financial activities of the lab.

Provide technical expertise and leadership to a technologist team performing laboratory procedures preparing and dispensing blood and blood products as ordered by physicians. Be at the forefront of maintaining inventory blood and blood products for our patients in accordance with departmental guidelines. In addition to gel technology, our state-of-the-art facilities utilize Echo Lumena & NEO Iris analyzers for testing with solid phase methodology. Here, you will experience a high level of clinical interaction within a collegial team that encourages innovative thinking. This is a night shift position with extension to other shifts as is inherent in a leadership position, including rotating weekends & holidays. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.

Preferred Criteria

• Three (3) years of laboratory supervisory or lead experience
• ASCP certification
• Masters Degree

Required Criteria

• Bachelor of Science Degree
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department or Certificate of Qualification
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
• Meets all requirements of the New York State Department of Education for a Laboratory Supervisor
• Computer literacy and experience in utilization of laboratory computer systems
• Experience with computerized spreadsheets, Word Processors and other statistical and financial programming
