The successful candidate in this role will possess over 5 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 1 year focused on treating adults with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases and disorders. In addition to all the duties and responsibilities of a Physical Therapist, the assistant head PT assists in the orientation, training and mentoring of new staff. Additionally, the assistant head PT helps in the area operations, assists in quality assurance, performance appraisals, and provides backup assistance to the Head PT when needed. Advanced skills in the management of the cardiopulmonary patient including patients with coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, respiratory failure, patients s/p percutaneous coronary interventions, TAVR, MitralClip, CABG, heart and lung transplant, VAD’s and experience with patients in the critical care units preferred.

This is a non-rotating full-time position with shifts on Monday- Friday 8:30A- 4:30P with weekend and holiday coverage.

Preferred Criteria:

• Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

• Experience with patients s/p interventional cardiology procedures, CABG, heart and lung transplant, VAD’s, ECMO, Cystic Fibrosis, ILD, respiratory failure.

Required Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical therapy.

• 5 years of experience as a practicing PT.

• At least one-year specialized experience with the cardiopulmonary population.

• Demonstrates competency in clinical skills consistent with the level of education, training, and experience.

• New York State Physical Therapy license.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
