Social Work Supervisor - Home-Based Crisis Intervention Program -- Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health

Helping Families, Changing the World:

Mental Health Professionals Make an Impact

The Home-Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) program at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital strives to provide high quality psychiatric care to our adolescent and pediatric population in Washington Heights, Inwood, West Harlem and the surrounding areas.

HBCI serves as an outpatient crisis program to support stabilization of youth within our community in need of psychiatric care, prevent emergency room visits and inpatient admission, while simultaneously working with their parents, families and caregivers to enhance involvement in treatment. Our field team Interventionists have numerous contact points each week in homes, schools, the community, or hospital to provide support and reinforce treatment. Given the frequency of contact and dedication to each family, each Interventionist is responsible for just a few families at a time.

Social Work Supervisor – Home-Based Crisis Intervention - Outpatient Behavioral Health

The Social Work Supervisor will lead the OMH grant funded Home Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) team that will consist of 4 Interventionists. The candidate should have supervision experience and clinical experience with children/adolescents and families who would be considered high risk/acuity.

Role responsibilities include daily team huddles and providing close individual supervision and ongoing support, to include coverage in the field when needed. The Supervisor may carry cases should an operational need arise. The Supervisor will also ensure grant deliverables are met, participate in OMH led HBCI meetings and internal finance and other HBCI related meetings. Tracking and managing time in care and referrals to ensure access for those in need of services is a key component of the role.
