Summer 2026 Graduate Web Development Internship

Position Summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Graduate Web Development Intern to join our Information Technology team. This internship offers hands‑on experience supporting real-world digital solutions that power one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers. You’ll collaborate with developers, build web features, and contribute to systems that directly support patient care, operations, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using React, Django, and Python.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement new features, troubleshoot issues, and participate in structured code reviews.
  • Create, update, and organize technical documentation, including Epics, Features, User Stories, and Backlog Requirements.
  • Support testing, quality assurance, and iterative improvements throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to team meetings, sprint planning, and Agile workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field. Must be enrolled in a graduate program and complete 1 year.
  • Foundational experience with React, Python, or Django through coursework or personal projects.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Program Details

  • Full‑time, 10‑week summer internship
  • Professional development workshops, speaker series, and networking events
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful IT initiatives that support hospital operations and patient care
  • Please note we do not offer relocation assistance.

This exciting internship opportunity will take place from June 1 - August 7, 2026 on site in New York, NY. 

Required Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in a Graduate Program and have 1 year completed.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical skills

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
