Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing the efficient receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory management of medical supplies, equipment, and materials within the hospital warehouse. This role ensures that critical items are available where and when needed to support patient care, while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The Logistics Specialist monitor stock levels, track shipments, and process orders. The role also includes the accurate use of inventory systems, and quality checks of incoming goods. A strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and ability to work in a fast-paced, health-critical environment are essential for success in this position.

Essential Job Duties

  • Receive, store, and manage medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals. Monitor stock levels and conduct regular cycle counts and audits. Maintain accurate records using inventory management systems.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare supply orders for various hospital departments. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of medical items to designated areas. Prioritize emergency or urgent supply requests.
  • Accept incoming deliveries, verify contents, and inspect for damage. Log shipments and coordinate with vendors or carriers for discrepancies or returns. Prepare outbound shipments, ensuring proper packaging and documentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant storage areas. Ensure proper labeling and storage of hazardous or temperature-sensitive materials.
  • Follow all hospital and regulatory guidelines. Use proper PPE and follow safe handling procedures. Report safety hazards or inventory issues promptly. Operate barcode scanners and inventory software (e.g., Lawson).
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The position reports to NYP Parsippany, NJ warehouse, 5 days a week on site.

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 3-5 years of experience

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
