About the Role:
At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, our Information Technology team is dedicated to delivering innovative and high-quality healthcare solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solution Architect to join our team.
The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of reliable, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions for our healthcare enterprise applications. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, cloud computing, data center operations, and enterprise-level systems and storage. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our IT infrastructure aligns with business goals and industry best practices. A key aspect of this role involves maintaining and leveraging application and business capability maps to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and identify opportunities for new applications and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Design & Planning
- Develop and maintain the overall architecture for IT infrastructure solutions, including network, storage, servers, and cloud environments.
- Design scalable and resilient solutions that meet business requirements and performance goals.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, system specifications, and implementation plans.
- Technology Evaluation & Selection
- Evaluate new technologies, tools, and platforms to determine their suitability for the organization’s solution needs.
- Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) projects to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed solutions.
- Recommend and implement best practices for solution management and optimization.
- Project Leadership
- Lead solution implementation projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure that all solution designs and implementations comply with security policies, regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PHI, PCI), and industry standards.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities and capability gaps.
- Align with disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor the performance of IT solutions and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement performance tuning, capacity planning, and load balancing strategies to optimize system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex solution issues.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and third-party service providers to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in IT solution design and implementation.
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, on-prem and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), virtualization, storage area networks, and data center operations.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Proficiency in software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
- Experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of data management, analytics, and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Data Lakes).

Salary Range:
