The Vincent P. Dole Opioid Use Disorder Treatment Practice belongs to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Ambulatory Care Network (ACN).The Vincent P. Dole Treatment Practice provides comprehensive, individualized, and harm reduction medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder, mental health care, counseling, ancillary medical care and health education for adults 18 years and older.
Overall, the primary goals of Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder are:
·Diminish physical opioid withdrawal symptoms and cravings
·Enhance the quality of life and safety of all patients
·Support the biopsychosocial recovery and stabilization of the individual
·Assist the patient w/ connecting to the community via care coordination/referrals
·Provide annual physical exams, ancillary medical care, and health education
The Social Worker of the New York Presbyterian Vincent P. Dole Treatment Practice is responsible for the clinical care of persons with opioid use disorder, substance use disorder comorbidities, and other voiced biopsychosocial concerns. The Social Worker engages with and assesses diverse populations with acceptance, patience, compassion, and empathy. The Social Worker develops and sustains therapeutic alliances; provides counseling & case management services; identifies the patient’s needs to support the individualized plan of care; and guides the development of new coping skills.Self-regulation and coping focus upon Harm Reduction, affect and distress regulation, and insight/self-awareness development.Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are the program’s philosophical and clinical frameworks.
The Social Worker will notprovide psychodynamic psychotherapy to their patients.
The Social Worker participates in regular individual & group Social Work supervision with the Senior Social Worker.
This is a Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm, position.
Preferred Criteria:
·Motivational Interviewing knowledge & experience
·Trauma Informed Care knowledge & experience
·Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder Treatment
Required Criteria:
·Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
·Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) by the State of New York
·Substance Use Disorder Treatment Experience
·Electronic Medical Record utilization knowledge & experience
·Effective Professional Communication Skills
·Knowledge of the DSM-V-TR Psychiatric Assessment Process
