Social Worker – Breast & Gynecologic Oncology

The Oncology Social Worker provides comprehensive psychosocial support services to patients diagnosed with breast and gynecologic cancers across the continuum of care, including newly diagnosed patients, individuals undergoing active treatment, survivors, and patients receiving end-of-life care. This role supports patients and families in coping with the emotional, social, financial, and practical challenges associated with cancer care.

The Oncology Social Worker functions both independently and collaboratively within a large interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have experience facilitating oncology support groups, providing short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and navigating complex healthcare systems.

This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.

​ Preferred Criteria

  • LCSW strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical social work experience in oncology, hospital, palliative care, hospice, or related healthcare setting

  • Experience working with patients with newly diagnosed cancer, active disease, recurrence, and end-of-life care needs

  • Experience facilitating support groups and providing short-term counseling services

Required Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)

  • New York State License as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
