Service Architect

About the Role:

At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, our Information Technology team is dedicated to delivering innovative and high-quality healthcare solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Architect to join our team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable technology service offerings that enhance the overall efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Service Design and Development:
    • Collaborate closely with solution architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to define and refine service requirements.
    • Develop comprehensive service designs, including service level agreements (SLAs), operating level agreements (OLAs), and underpinning technical architectures.
    • Create and maintain detailed service documentation, such as service catalogs, run books, and knowledge base articles.
    • Ensure all service designs adhere to NYP's architectural standards, security policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Service Transition and Onboarding:
    • Define and manage the transition of new services into production, ensuring a smooth and successful onboarding process.
    • Develop and implement robust service transition plans, including risk assessments, communication strategies, and change management procedures.
    • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery and ongoing support.
  • Service Improvement and Optimization:
    • Continuously analyze service performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
    • Proactively identify and implement strategies to optimize service delivery, including automation, self-service capabilities, and improved incident management processes.
    • Conduct regular service reviews with stakeholders to assess service effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across all departments, including IT operations, engineering, security, and business units.
    • Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Collaborate with other architects to ensure consistency and alignment across all service offerings.
  • Innovation and Exploration:
    • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and best practices in service delivery.
    • Identify and explore opportunities to leverage new technologies, such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and automation, to enhance service offerings.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in service management, including ITIL, DevOps, and Lean methodologies.

“Onsite role 4 days a week reporting to Midtown, NYC; therefore, should live within a commutable distance.  No relocation assistance available.”

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of experience in a service architecture or related role.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing complex service offerings in a large and dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of service management frameworks such as ITIL, DevOps, and Lean.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in developing and documenting technical architectures, including use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools and technologies for service design, documentation, and management.

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related discipline or related work experience 6-8 years
  • 6-8 years of related work experience

Salary Range:

$126,000-$199,000/Annual
