Senior Physical Therapist – Outpatient Spine and Orthopedics – Days/Evenings

The Rehabilitation Medicine Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is one of the largest in the nation. With more than 50 years of experience, we have assembled a team of professionals that is unparalleled in experience and expertise throughout various clinical areas, helping to lead the way in advancing care to our patients.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities of an outpatient physical therapist, the Senior Physical Therapist serves as a clinical resource and mentor to staff, assists in staff orientation and clinical skills development, identifies and develops clinically oriented as well as service excellence initiatives. 

The successful candidate must have advanced clinical skills and knowledge in the physical therapy assessment and treatment of various neurological disorders including stroke, Parkinson’s, MS; Vestibular disorders and common musculoskeletal disorders of the lower extremity.  Strong customer service skills is necessary.

This is a Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30 pm / 10:30-6:30 schedule with an intermittent weekend and holiday requirement.

Preferred Criteria

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a physical therapist

• Excellent communication and teaching skills

• Exemplary professionalism, teamwork and flexibility

• Some experience working in either the acute care or inpatient rehab setting    

Required Criteria

• 3 years of experience as a practicing physical therapist

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy

• New York State Physical Therapy License

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
