Senior System Educational Partner Information Technology EHR
The Senior System Educational Partner EHR is responsible for achieving in-depth knowledge of the assigned application(s) and the corresponding end-user workflows. They must be able to communicate effectively to end users in a classroom, through webinars, in eLearning courses they develop, and at-the-elbow when providing onsite support. The Senior System Educational Partner drives strategic training efforts for management while ensuring the success of learning programs and curricula by collaborating with team members and operations to develop learning programs, create curricula, and build out training environments. This position will oversee and provide quality assurance for all training sessions for their assigned application(s), which includes oversight of the classes taught by System Educational Partners credentialed in the application(s) they oversee. Applicants for this role should have a clinical licensure in either laboratory, nursing, or provider roles.
This is a hybrid role and includes occasional onsite work at NYP's Corporate Center and across its campuses and clinics, as well as at partner institution's sites.
Essential Job Duties
- Creates and maintains curricula and supporting training documents including lesson plans, exercise books, e-learnings, and knowledge articles.
- Facilitates lab-based educational sessions while utilizing knowledge of and best practices in adult learning to convey information in a clear and compelling way, to ensure transfer of knowledge to training and lab participants.
- Leverages understanding of end-user needs, and actively seeks to understand impact, implications, and nuances of implementation within departments and works to resolve issues within the existing curricula.
- Maintains accurate record keeping in the learning management system and training schedule. Performs the analysis of participant data to identify additional program needs, sessions to schedule or areas of vulnerability for the organization.
- Evaluates training environments as well as curricula regularly. Assesses and reports any challenges in program delivery or audience comprehension of the subject matter.
- Proposes solutions to challenges in curriculum or other ways to improve and optimize participant experience and program efficacy.
- Reviews and edits training materials regularly to ensure they are inclusive of up-to-date system workflows, and partners with other members of Clinical IT to gain mastery of the workflows and system content.
- Documents issues with training environments, classroom technology, and training documentation into designated trackers, and updates the trackers once material and environment issues are resolved, communicating that progress to all Educational Partners.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact for the training participants and departmental leadership. Captures participant questions, and when needed, obtains additional information and clarity from the curriculum designer or other SMEs, including both operational leadership and IT analysts, and reports back to participants.
- Builds trust and maintains strong working relationships with client stakeholders. Collaborates with the Clinical IT team and departmental stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Leads, reinforces, and validates standard workflows and best practices with the assign learning program(s). Proactively identifies and reports any workflow or application issues to the Clinical IT team.
- Articulates the value of the platform to stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization, while always prioritizing patient care and safety.
- Manages the development, coordination, quality assurance, presentation, and follow-up of learning programs for the assigned application(s). This includes curriculum, method of delivery, training space, scheduling of training sessions, and other items as applicable. Maintains mastery-level knowledge of applicable end-user workflows.
- Preserves the highest level of confidentiality with regard to protected health information. Understands and articulates the institution’s HIPAA privacy policy and associated procedures.
- Maintains a favorable work environment for all team members and clients.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Required Criteria:
2+ years of previous work related experience
Instructional design and delivery experience
Experience with online learning tools.
Demonstrated oral and written communication and instructional skills
Working knowledge of order Entry, Admitting and Billing software applications. e with large-scale organizational learning initiatives
Epic Module Certification in job related module(s) (Obtained within 6 months of hire and renewed quadrennial)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Must be able to develop and deliver various types of instructional materials; such as synchronous learning, pre and post course assessments and performance support literature.
Preferred Criteria:
1+ years Epic experience as a clinical end user or clinical systems instructor
Experience developing e-learning courses with Adobe Captivate
Experience with learning administrator functions in Workday
Master’s Degree in Adult Learning and Development, Education, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or Public Health
Must be able to develop and deliver various types of instructional materials; such as synchronous learning programs, asynchronous learning programs, pre and post course assessments, and performance support literature
Hybrid Role:
This is a hybrid role that is primarily remote. However, the individual in this role may be called upon for on-site activities such as in-person classes, go-live support, job shadowing, key meetings, training environment build, etc.
