This position will serve as one of the primary Speech Language Pathologists to the NewYork Presbyterian Och Spine/Allen Hospital. In this role, you will evaluate and treat adult stroke, neurology, medicine, geriatric, and post-surgical patients in the ICU and acute care setting, as well as support our busy Emergency Department. You will perform inpatient Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing and inpatient, and outpatient Modified Barium Swallow studies daily.

This position is Monday-Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm at Allen Hospital located at 5141 Broadway, New York, NY 10034. Coverage of 2 holidays per year is required. Also, this position will provide float coverage to the Milstein Hospital at our main Columbia location as needed. The ideal candidate will be flexible in working between sites, depending on census. 

Preferred Criteria

  • Experience managing tracheostomy-ventilator dependent patients.

  • Experience in evaluation and treatment of neurogenic communication disorders.

  • Flexible to move between different units and patient types as needed.

Required Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association.

  • New York State licensure.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

  • Minimum 3 + years of clinical work experience in the hospital setting.

  • Competency in complex dysphagia management in the acute care and ICU setting.

  • Competency in Videofluoroscopy and/or Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

$56.39-$60.82/Hourly
