In this role, the Senior Director of Clinical Services is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing the clinical service operations within The NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care, implementing clinical policies and procedures, and leading a team of healthcare professionals. The Senior Director of Clinical Service will work collaboratively with various departments to enhance patient outcomes and improve service efficiency.
Responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the clinical services team. 
  • Supervise and mentor clinical coordinators. 
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Oversee the day-to-day clinical operations to ensure high-quality patient care. 
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and protocols. 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. 
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for clinical services. 
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. 
  • Implement evidence-based practices and innovative clinical solutions. 
  • Develop and manage the clinical services budget. 
  • Optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency. 
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality of care. 
  • Collaborate with other departments, including operations, HR, IT, and administration, to support clinical services. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including patients, families, staff, and external partners. 
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and executive leadership. 
  • Partner with operations to foster a program of excellence for recruitment, hiring, and retention of clinical staff. 
  • Ensure ongoing training and professional development opportunities for clinical team members. 
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment. 
  • Participate in the development and execution of the organization's strategic plan. 
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve clinical service delivery. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging best practices. 
  • Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. 
  • Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures. 
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned. 
This is a full time Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm day position. Located in NYP Corporate office in New York, NY.
Preferred Criteria:
  • Doctorate Degree
  • Administrative certification (e.g., FACHE)
Required Criteria:
  • BSN
  • Master’s degree. If Masters in Nursing, BSN can be preferred.
  • Current NYS RN Licensure
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in clinical services or healthcare management. 
  • Strong leadership and team building skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience
  • Proficiency in healthcare regulations and standards. 
  • Relevant clinical licensure. If RN, graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in New York State as a Registered Nurse 
  • Nursing leadership and management experience
  • Presentation skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum development
  • Communication and conflict management skills
  • Effective writing skills

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$225,000-$290,000/Annual
