Security Investigator - Weill Cornell Medical Center - Full Time - 11:00am - 7:00pm

The Security Investigator will conduct comprehensive and objective investigations into allegations of misconduct, fraud, criminal activities, and regulatory violations to ensure compliance with institutional policies and federal, state, and municipal laws. Performs investigations with a high degree of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to manage sensitive information with the utmost discretion.

Essential Job Duties

  • Handles the entirety of the investigative process: meticulously collects evidence, closely observes relevant conditions, thoroughly reviews documentation, and conducts in-depth interviews.
  • Coordinates collaborative efforts with various investigative teams within New York Presbyterian to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach.
  • Works closely with investigation management and departments such as legal, human resources, and compliance to ensure that investigations are conducted fairly, impartially, and transparently.
  • Prepares detailed and comprehensive investigation reports that summarize findings and analyze data to draw insightful conclusions.
  • Offers strategic recommendations to the Security Operations team to bolster security measures and protocols.
  • Ensures any and all findings are formally communicated to senior management, the legal team, grand juries, and other pertinent stakeholders as necessary.
  • Collaborates with law enforcement and prosecutors while considering the potential for providing testimony in both state and federal court.
  • Monitors adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Identifies potential risk areas within the organization and proposes actionable improvements to mitigate said risks.
  • Fosters a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Maintains meticulous and confidential records of all investigations and associated activities; ensures that all documentation is accurate and meets the stringent requirements of legal and regulatory standards.
  • Trains hospital staff on security and safety protocols as required.

This shift is a Monday – Friday 11:00am – 7:00pm

Preferred Criteria

  • Interview and Interrogation Certification
  • NYS Security Guard License
  • The Reid Technique Certification
  • Wicklander-Zulawski Certification
  • Knowledge of Accurint, Lexis Nexis, TLOxp, E-Justice, Ontic

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Driver’s License
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role and continued BCLS certification required every two years
  • 5+ Years of experience of relevant experience (Criminal Investigation, Corporate Investigation)
  • 5+ Years of experience in an Investigative or Law Enforcement role performing Administrative, Criminal, or Internal Investigations.
  • 5+ Years of satisfactory experience in an Industrial or Governmental agency in the field of Investigation, Auditing, Law Enforcement, Corporate Investigator or Compliance/Policy Violation.
  • Experience with, or ability to learn and effectively use computer systems including EPIC, Various CCTV Systems, Case Management platforms and Open Source.
  • Knowledgeable in Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Video Meeting Software)
  • Basic knowledge of security systems, investigations, and interviewing
  • Excellent coordination and collaboration in a team setting
  • Superior customer service competencies and the ability to ensure appropriate confidentiality of information and investigations
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience working investigations collaboratively with private sector and government organizations

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

$30.00-$36.00/Hourly
