The Scheduling and Billing Liaison – Centralized Infusion Services is responsible for managing patient intake, registration, and scheduling across multiple NYP infusion centers. This role ensures timely access to infusion therapy by coordinating appointments based on clinical needs, site capacity, and insurance requirements. The Liaison serves as a key patient-facing resource, providing clear guidance on scheduling, benefits, and next steps while collaborating with clinical, authorization, and financial teams to ensure seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Intake & Scheduling
    • Manage incoming referrals and coordinate scheduling across multiple infusion sites
    • Complete accurate patient registration and ensure all required information is entered into the EMR
    • Schedule patients based on therapy type, urgency, and site-specific capabilities
  • Insurance & Patient Communication
    • Provide patients with clear, high-level education on insurance coverage, benefits, and expected financial responsibility
    • Coordinate with authorization and financial teams to confirm readiness for scheduling
    • Escalate complex financial or coverage issues as needed
  • Multi-Site Coordination
    • Balance patient volume across infusion centers to optimize access and capacity
    • Communicate effectively with clinical teams regarding scheduling needs and constraints
  • Operational Support
    • Maintain accuracy of scheduling workflows and appointment types
    • Track and support key operational metrics such as volume and access
    • Identify opportunities for workflow improvement and standardization
    • Customer Experience
      • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered service in all interactions
      • Address patient inquiries and ensure a smooth transition from intake to treatment

Preferred Criteria:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Bilingual(English/Spanish)
  • Experience with EMR systems (Epic required; Cadence strongly preferred)
  • Experience working in work queues (WQs) and managing referral/scheduling workflows preferred
  • Prior infusion scheduling experience or familiarity with infusion workflows strongly preferred
  • Experience in a patient-facing role with direct communication required

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and managed care billing regulations & procedures
  • Experience with Electronic office procedures, including billing reschedule etc.
  • Experience with Software applications, such Epic (i.e. able to input and interpret data), MSO or equivalent, and basic Internet procedures; basic computer literacy, including web-based applications

$66,300-$89,000/Annual
