Risk Management Assistant - Legal Affairs and Risk Management - Corporate

In this role, you will perform administrative and logistical support to the Risk Management team.  Support attorneys and claims representatives by identifying and securing necessary investigative materials for the defense of professional and general liability lawsuits and claims.  Confirm employment and accept service of process for new lawsuits and subpoenas directed to the Hospital and its affiliated clinical staff.  Organize and maintain central department logs to track service of process.  You will also be responsible for locating and obtaining relevant documents, electronic data, employment status and witness information to respond to regulatory requests and law firm subpoenas.  Research and compile data to prepare documents for review, distribution, and presentation, which may be both complex and confidential.  In addition, provide administrative support to other staff members such as phone coverage, distributing mail and maintaining departmental files, as necessary.

This is a full-time position working 4 days at our Corporate Office in mid-town Manhattan and the ability for 1 day remote.

Preferred Criteria

  • Previous administrative experience within a law firm or hospital setting

Required Criteria

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience

  • Computer proficiency with knowledge of Windows-based computer applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point

  • The ability to learn and use the MCIC Vermont, Inc. claims management system (“Compass”)

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$24.00-$38.50/Hourly
