Quality & Patient Safety Specialist – Full Time – Days – Columbia
In this impactful role, you will serve as a trusted partner supporting quality and patient safety initiatives across the organization. You’ll provide expert consultation, drive performance improvement efforts, and help shape programs that elevate both clinical excellence and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide quality and patient safety consulting, analysis, and improvement facilitation for assigned departments
- Develop, implement, and enhance programs that uphold and advance quality and safety standards
- Analyze internal and external data to inform strategic decision-making
- Lead and support significant event reviews and performance improvement initiatives
- Serve as a subject matter expert on quality and patient safety priorities aligned with organizational goals
- Collaborate closely with QPSS colleagues across sites, functioning as one unified team
This position is currently based out of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia Hospital at 168th Street with possible travel to any of our NYP locations. The schedule is full-time Monday-Friday.
Preferred Criteria
- Master's degree in a related field
- Clinical Licensure (RN, PA, NP, MD, Nurse Midwife, RD, PT/OT, PharmD)
- PMP or Six-Sigma/Lean certification
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Strong data analytics and interpretation skills
Required Criteria
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in a healthcare related position, preferably in Quality and Performance Improvement
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc)
- Familiarity with quality and performance improvement methods
