Quality and Patient Safety Manager – Regulatory

Varied Sites | Full-Time | Days

Join NewYork-Presbyterian as a key leader on our Quality team, where you’ll play a vital role in advancing regulatory readiness, patient safety, and operational excellence across our enterprise.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the hospital’s response to unannounced federal (CMS) and state (DOH) surveys, including on-site support throughout the survey, and working with clinical teams to develop and implement any subsequent post-survey plans of correction.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with surveyors, command centers, clinicians, departments across the organization, as well as within the internal Quality team.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Support enterprise-wide initiatives that improve quality and patient safety and overall organizational readiness.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in CMS and DOH regulatory survey activity, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement.

This is a full-time position with travel to locations across the enterprise as needed. While the home base may vary, time is often spent at our key Manhattan sites (Weill Cornell, Columbia, or Corporate). Flexibility is essential – particularly when working within the dynamic demands of the survey environment.

Preferred Criteria

  • Master’s degree
  • Clinical licensure with hands-on practice and leadership experience in a hospital setting
  • Extensive knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation, DOH regulations and connection to hospital operations and policies
  • Proven success leading and managing complex projects with measurable outcomes
  • Expertise in organizational patient readiness, patient safety protocols and quality improvement methodologies

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare, with a focus on regulatory, quality and performance improvement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to present effectively to diverse audiences

$142,200-$192,700/Annual
