Project Manager Information Technology

The Project Manager - Information Technology will work with the Interoperability and other Clinical System teams and will lead complex, multi-phase initiatives that ensure the seamless exchange of healthcare data across diverse systems. This role combines deep technical and clinical workflow knowledge with project management expertise to deliver integrated solutions that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Project Manager serves as a liaison between clinical, technical, and administrative stakeholders, driving collaboration, standardization, and innovation in health information delivery. These projects are often complex, affect many users and can often be multi-year and multi-phased projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and monitor internal and external projects of varying size, scope, and complexity.
  • Serve as the project lead for multi-phase technology initiatives, including network infrastructure upgrades (e.g., servers, switches, cabling, Wi-Fi) and clinical system integrations.
  • Manage full project lifecycle for interoperability solutions, including the integration of EHRs, HIEs, medical devices, and third-party software.
  • Oversee project scope, task assignments, resource planning, timelines, budget tracking, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams including IT professionals, clinical users, and external vendors.
  • Define and maintain project schedules to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Translate complex technical requirements into practical, user-friendly solutions that align with clinical workflows and organizational goals.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders including clinicians, vendors, IT teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, HL7, FHIR).
  • Provide training, documentation, and support to internal teams and system end-users.
  • Track and report on project metrics; identify areas for optimization and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including status reports, issue logs, and risk assessments.
  • Support issue resolution and escalation management
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of departmental goals.

Requires 4 days occasional on-site presence; therefore, should live within a commutable distance.  No relocation assistance available.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Technology, or related field
  • PMP Certification or Equivalent within 12 months of hire
  • 5- 7 years of previous work-related experience or project manager experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication and analytic skills.
  • Business Savvy
  • Expert Knowledge of PMBOK
  • Microsoft Suite, MS Project, Visio
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Professional demeanor and good communication skills
  • Maintains good relationships with customers, peer technical groups and other IT organizations/groups

Preferred Criteria

  • Master’s degree in healthcare informatics, Computer Science, and/or Business Administration
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other best practices certification
  • Epic Certification
  • Strong knowledge of clinical systems and workflows and proficiency in any EHR system like Allscripts, EPIC and Cerner.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills –
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and ideologies on the fly
  • Working knowledge of Information Security concepts and terminology

Salary Range:

$119,000-$195,500/Annual
