In support of the Communications vision, The Program Manager will organize, oversees, leads, and supports proactive, reactive, and crisis communications for NYP, reporting to the Vice President of Internal Communications.

This position is a Part Time 2–3 shifts per week.

Essential Job Duties

  • Develops, oversees, organizes, and implements institution-wide internal communications to successfully execute Hospital programs, initiatives, strategies, regulatory requirements, and new processes.
  • Works closely with and serves as a point of escalation/point person for hospital leaders and subject matter experts to provide strategic guidance, oversight, and implementation of internal communication materials across multiple channels for hospital-wide initiatives and special projects.
  • Identifies key messages, audiences, communication channels, and timing for internal communications materials.
  • Assesses, develops, and executes internal communications strategies for departments throughout NYP.
  • Produces and edits collateral materials of high complexity and sensitivity
  • Provides essential support to the Vice President of Internal Communications in the management of the Hospital’s response to emergency situations and sensitive issues.
  • Initiates contact with subject matter experts and hospital leadership to develop internal communications materials.
  • Liaises closely with business functions (Human Resources, Leadership, Operations, Legal, Finance, IT, Patient Services, Security and Emergency Management) to ensure alignment and compliance. Represents and presents at project meetings on behalf of the Internal Communications Team.
  • Works with and manages relationships with external vendors and consultants, as necessary, to facilitate project flow and completion of project tasks.

Required Criteria:

  • BA or BS in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in the field of Communications
  • Ability to think creatively and problem solve
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to integrate diverse material into key messages
  • Superior copywriting and editing skills
  • Ability to work in detail oriented, team based, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent computer skills

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
