As a Manager of Information Service you will administer the design and coding of new programs, modifications or enhancements to existing systems. You will also analyze modifications or enhancements to determine impact on existing production systems.  Additional responsibilities include managing the design, development, implementation, documentation and maintenance of assigned program(s) or system(s) and ensuring both the business needs of the functional department and hospital goals are met. You will be responsible for quality control and ensuring the performance, integrity and reliability of program/system.

Position Summary

  • Leads, directs and coordinates all network operations activities.
  • Has oversight authority/responsibility for multiple projects. 
  • Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
  • Complies and contributes to the development of the network architecture and sets standards and measurements for compliance.
  • Create \ optimize processes to drive enterprise scale
  • Partner with Security Ops \ Engineering to ensure infrastructure complies with secure transmit of information.

Essential Job Duties

  • Develops protocols and standards for all network services and has ultimate responsibility for their implementation and documentation.
  • Provides expert business related and technical guidance to other IS staff in the development and support of network systems.  Sets staff member performance goals.  Assists in the development of goals for department.
  • Responsible for the integration of new projects with existing technologies
  • Consults on the evaluation of new technologies in support of NYP-IT and NYP-wide IT objectives
  • Ensures that all in-house installations and vendor updates are performed in accordance IS change control standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that user group equipment needs are met.  Responsible for ensuring products and equipment are adequate to fulfill network operations solutions
  • Coordinates staff and projects to make sure that they are on schedule and within budget.  Provides guidance to other levels as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all design have been adequately tested and validated
  • Assigns, schedules, and reviews work of staff.  Responsible for hiring, firing, discipline, and evaluating employee performance for staff reporting up to this position.
  • Ensures the operation of production systems in a 24 x 7 environment.  Provides 7x24 on-call and escalation support.
  • Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
  • Understands LAN\WAN\WLAN technologies and configurations

This role is hybrid, 4 days on site supporting our NYP Campuses.

Preferred Criteria

  • Master’s degree
  • EHR or Hospital IT experience 

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Seven to nine years of previous work related experience.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement projects as well as interact effectively with applications in complex problem situations
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills to effectively collaborate, build relationships and manage change

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$133,500-$217,500/Annual
