Network Engineer II

The Network Engineer II administers, monitors, and maintains the campus network infrastructure that provides network connectivity to New York Presbyterian Cornell Hospital staff, visitors, and residents. The Network Engineer II reports to the Manager of Core Resources. Travel is required to other NYP sites.

“Requires on-site presence five days a week; therefore, should live within a commutable distance.  No relocation assistance available.”

Preferred Criteria

• CCNA-level mastery of STP, TCP, UDP, HSRP/VRRP, Ethernet, Multicast
• Experience with Cisco and Arista Networking hardware 
• Experience with Cisco or Aruba wireless infrastructure 

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 2 or more years support experience for network infrastructure products
• Thorough working knowledge of OSI model and the interaction between the layers
• Must be familiar with protocols and technologies including ICMP, SNMP, and TCP/IP, Ethernet, STP
